Are you ready to step up to the plate and make things happen?  GREAT!  It is time for this grassroots campaign to get busy gathering signatures!

In order to put my name on the June, 2010 ballot, I must pay a filing fee of $2,185.04.  Over the next seven weeks, I need to gather 8,741 signatures for a” Petition in Lieu of Filing Fee.”   By getting these signatures, I do not have to spend your donated campaign dollars on a San Diego County Filing Fee!  This is what I call Fiscal Responsibility.  I would be honored if you would help by signing this “petition in lieu of filing fee,“ and then gather signatures from your family and friends.  Please email Volunteers@SheriffJay.org, give your name, how many petitions you would like & mailing address.  We will send you a petition/s.

There is another way you can help! Any registered voter in San Diego County may sign a Petition in Lieu of Filing Fee.  You can help by asking your friends, contacts, associates to sign too.  In order to circulate this petition, you must be registered to vote in San Diego County.  This is a non-partisan race, so it does not matter what you or the signer’s Party is.  Simply fill the petitions, then fill out the short form on the back of each petition.  When completed, drop them into the mail to the campaign address below.  Or…

Looking for another way to join Team Sheriff Jay?  On Thursday, 18 February, 2010, I and my Campaign Team will be at the Scottish Rite Center (Mission Valley), in the Parking Lot (under the canopies).  Come on by & drop off your completed petitions from 4-7:00pm.  We will have “Sheriff Jay” bumper stickers, t-shirts and yard signs available too!  Just drive thru and sign a petition or drop off your petitions.  How about parking, grab a cup of hot apple cider, introduce yourself, and join the Team!  Jumpin’ Jack Flash will be there playing some great tunes too! Come on down!

If you are unable to make the “Drive Thru Signature Drive” event, simply drop your completed petitions into the mail, addressed to:

If you find you have too many petitions to mail and cannot make it by the event, call me at 619-341-2010 and my Volunteer Coordinator will drop by and pick them up!   My campaign is a very, very strong, grassroots effort and our numbers larger every day.  Together, we will change San Diego County for the better, for a safer tomorrow.
